Dog training in times of Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Staying calm, eliminating risks
Everything was okay just a week ago. We’d all heard of the Coronavirus, but it was over there somewhere.
Then, suddenly, Little Rock is in a state of emergency, all the toilet paper has vanished from stores, and everybody isn’t quite sure what’s going on.
I get it.
Over here at Telltail Dog, we’re still working away on things, but I’m keeping an eye on what’s going on. Safety, as a dog trainer, is incredibly important to me. So is the trust that I have with my clients. As I’m all about communication and maintaining that safety and trust, I wanted to share that I’m taking all precautions to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus even as it hits Little Rock.
This means that while I’ll be finishing up the make-up class tomorrow at Bark Bar (if you missed a class or two this past round, come join us at 11:30 am!), we’ll be sure to disinfect and sanitize a bit more beyond what we normally do. We can elbow bump or just shoot a smile from across the room. And although I still have plans to switch locations (Bark Bar was a lot of fun but had some challenges for a group class setting), I will be postponing those start dates until April. This will include Wednesday evening classes at SoMa Animal Clinic and Saturday morning classes at Profectus Athletics in Sherwood.
Private lessons will continue as scheduled, but please reach out to cancel as soon as you aren’t feeling well. I will not be holding any lessons with those who may be at additional risk. Any purchased packages and lessons will be honored, even if that means waiting until the pandemic has resided.
The podcast will restart next week with another personal story, and then I’ll have another expert back on to chat about dogs.
I’ve got eyes on everything local. I’m watching guidelines and protocols set up by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and and the World Health Organization (WHO). I’ll communicate any further changes.
Please email me with any concerns or questions. I’ll share any updates as I get them.
